Telugu boothu Kathalu OnePlus has confirmed that it will raise the price of its flagship OnePlus 3 from July 11th. The smartphone will go from £309 to £329 when bought off-contract and SIM free.

The move comes a week after the independent mobile-maker warned that it was considering increasing the cost of its flagship phone owing to the collapse of the value of the pound in the wake of Brexit.

Telugu boothu Kathalu Sticking to its promise to forewarn users before the price rise, OnePlus said on its web forum: “Given the effects of the unstable markets on our extremely thin margins, we’re reluctantly going to have make some small changes to our pricing structure for the device.”

Accessories will not be affected, with only the OnePlus 3 affected by the fluctuations in currency markets.

OnePlus is the first mobile maker to shift prices upwards after Brexit.

However, with exchange rates still volatile and sliding to a 31–year low, it may not be the last.

Telugu boothu Kathalu.Samsung and Apple are both due to launch new devices in the coming months (the Galaxy Note 6 and iPhone 7 respectively), with both manufacturers expected to pass on the higher costs they're facing to consumers.
