Unveiled last month at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), iOS 10 features a wholly revamped version of Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant.

The voice-activated service can now be used by third-party apps such as Uber, meaning iPhone owners can order services by simply speaking into their device.

Apple has wholly revamped its Apple Music service, with a new design and easier navigation, while Maps has been given an overhaul to put navigation tools front and centre.

Uber and other ride-sharing apps will also be able to use Apple’s mapping app, allowing users to book journeys faster.

Other new features include voicemail transcription, tweaks to messages and a new Photos app aimed at helping users organise their images by automatically by event and location.

To get hold of iOS 10 now, you’ll need to sign up to Apple’s public beta programme.

Once you’ve done that, follow the installation instructions on its website.

Although developers have been testing iOS 10 for the past month, it’s likely that the update will still have a number of bugs and errors.

The official public release of iOS 10 is scheduled for September.
