Tesco Mobile has revealed it's scrapping roaming charges for its customers this summer, with a new service called Home From Home.

The supermarket network will allow customers to use their allowance of calls, texts and data at no extra cost from May 23rd to September 3rd.

The offer applies in 31 countries across Europe. That compares with 11 European destinations covered by Three’s Feel At Home offer.

Tesco has made the move as the European Union gears up to lower roaming charges on April 30th, before they are completely scrapped in June 2017.

Calls made outside customers’ allowance to EU numbers will cost 4p a minute, with texts priced 1p.

Home From Home will work automatically for Tesco Mobile users and there is no need to activate the service.

Tesco has not said whether the scheme will stay in place beyond September if it proves to be a success.

Home From Home will work in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain including the Canary Islands, Sweden, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.

The Apple Watch 2 will not need to be paired with an iPhone in order to work. That’s according to anonymous sources speaking with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

That means you could pick one up on a separate contract to an iPhone and still receive notifications from your smartphone even when it’s not in your pocket or bag.

There is no firm timetable for the launch of the Apple Watch 2. It’s exactly a year since the first model was released, six months after it was unveiled alongside the iPhone 6.

Apple may make some hints about the updated watch at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), which starts on June 13th. Failing that, the most likely launch date for the device would be in September, when the iPhone 7 is also expected to make its debut.

The current iPhone 6s is not officially waterproof, although teardowns have revealed that internal components are protected from water damage with special rubberised materials. Tests have also shown that the iPhone 6s can withstand lengthy periods in clear water.

The same report also suggests Apple may use a touch sensitive home button on the iPhone 7, replacing the physical Touch ID module. This would allow for fewer places to let in liquid, as well as give Jony Ive’s design team the chance to give the iPhone 7 a new look.

Apple’s rivals, including Samsung and Sony, have already released handsets which are fully waterproof and dustproof. The move would give the iPhone 7 a major selling point at a time when overall iPhone sales are in decline.

Recent rumours have suggested that the iPhone 7 will not be a major upgrade on current models, with Apple said to be priming a new look for 2017 instead.

Vodafone pay as you go customers will get a free-of-charge international roaming allowance this summer, allowing them to use their phone overseas without risk of racking up extra charges or signing up for a roaming add-on.

Throughout July and August Vodafone pay as you go customers get 100 minutes, 100 texts and 500MB of data to use in 40 European locations, including Italy, Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and Spain, within Vodafone’s inclusive roaming zone.

Of these locales, 34 offer 4G. You can see the full list of destinations and whether you’ll get a 3G or 4G service at the foot of the page.

A bitter war of words has erupted between Apple and Spotify, after the latter’s app was rejected from Apple’s App Store for breaching strict rules surrounding in–app purchases.

Aunty boothu kathalu Spotify says that the rejection raises "serious concerns under both US and EU competition law" and claims that it "continues a troubling pattern of behaviour by Apple to exclude and diminish the competitiveness of Spotify on iOS".

The app was apparently rejected on the grounds that it contravened new rules, whereby Apple takes a 15% cut of any subscription taken out within an app.

In a stinging reply, Apple’s top lawyer Bruce Sewell accused Spotify of, “resorting to rumours and half–truths”.

He added: “There is nothing in Apple's conduct that 'amounts to a violation of applicable antitrust laws'.

"Far from it. Apple has continued to innovate with lower pricing for our customers, and a new revenue share model for the developers that have helped make us so successful.”

Spotify’s app continues to be available on iPhone and iPad, although a new version is not expected to launch any time soon.

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Note 7 has been the subject of a string of leaks and rumours in recent weeks. And now press images of the Korean giant’s next major handset have found their way onto Twitter, giving us our best look at it so far.

Telugu boothu Kathalu As the snaps reveal, the large screen-toting smartphone comes in black, silver and blue colour options, with 'Galaxy Note 7' embossed on the rear. A dedicated ‘7’ screen saver also appears to come as standard.

Up front there is quite clearly an iris scanner, tallying with rumours that Samsung will offer-eye recognition technology to bolster the Note 7's security credentials.

And most interestingly of all, Samsung seems to be going with a dual edge curved screen, similar to the one found in its warmly received Galaxy S7 Edge. That means you'll get a secondary screen that curves down the side of the handset and displays extra info, such as notifications.

A slew of rumours suggest that the Galaxy Note 7 will feature a 5.7–inch OLED screen, a 12 megapixel rear camera, five megapixel front–facing camera, 64GB storage that's expandable via microSD and will be fully dust and waterproof.

The handset is due to be unveiled at a special event on August 2nd.

The move comes a week after the independent mobile-maker warned that it was considering increasing the cost of its flagship phone owing to the collapse of the value of the pound in the wake of Brexit.

Samsung’s overall profits have jumped by 17% year–on–year, with the company making $7 billion between April and June.

The huge improvement is believed to be down to its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones, which were released in March.

Both handsets received huge critical acclaim and are widely regarded as the best smartphones available right now.

Samsung has yet to release detailed breakdowns of which divisions within the company made the most money during the second quarter, but it’s widely expected that the mobile division has been the most successful.

A number of market watchers believe Samsung’s mobile profits rose by 54.5% year–on–year.

Analysts claim that Samsung sold around 78 million smartphones during the quarter. Official figures will be revealed at the end of July.

It’s a remarkable turnaround for a firm which was predicting doom and gloom a year ago, as it struggled to cope with the runaway success of Apple’s iPhone 6.

Instead, Apple is now having to face up to declining iPhone sales.

Samsung is expected to press home its advantage by launching the new Galaxy Note 7 at a special event on August 2nd.
